UCOM Wi-Fi Routers
Getting the most out of your nbn service starts with the right router. An ageing router can cap your speeds, drop connections, and create bottlenecks across your entire network. If you haven't upgraded yours in a while, now's the perfect time to make sure nothing's standing between you and a faster internet experience.

Frequently Asked
Questions
Thinking about making the switch to UCOM Enterprise nbn®, or just want to know more? We've answered the most common questions right here. Can't find what you're looking for? Our Team is always happy to help.
Enterprise nbn® is best suited to organisations where internet reliability and performance directly affect operations and revenue. This typically includes:
- Medium and large businesses that have outgrown standard nbn and need consistent, guaranteed performance during peak business hours.
- Multi-site operations such as businesses running multiple offices, branches, or retail locations that need stable connectivity between sites for shared systems, centralised servers, or site-to-site networking.
- Cloud-dependent organisations that run core software, file storage, backups, or applications in the cloud (such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, accounting platforms, or CRMs), where downtime or slow connections can halt productivity across the whole team.
- Businesses using VoIP and unified communications for larger deployments, where call quality depends on a stable, low-latency connection. Symmetrical speeds and 1:1 contention help prevent dropped calls, jitter, and audio lag.
- Teams that rely on video conferencing for client meetings, remote collaboration, or training, where strong upload speeds keep video clear and connections stable even when multiple people are on calls at once.
- Data-intensive businesses that regularly move large files, such as architecture and engineering firms, media and creative agencies, healthcare providers handling imaging, or any business transferring large datasets, backups, or design files daily.
- Organisations with critical uptime requirements that simply can't afford to be offline, where the SLA, guaranteed uptime, and fast fault restoration provide the reliability and accountability their operations demand.
To get the most from your Enterprise nbn® service, a modern, business-grade router is strongly recommended. An ageing router can quietly become the bottleneck in your network, capping your speeds well below what you're paying for, dropping connections, and creating performance issues across every device in the office, even when the underlying fibre service is performing perfectly.
This matters even more on higher-tier plans. To actually achieve gigabit speeds on the Enterprise 1000 plan, your router needs a WAN gigabit Ethernet port. Many older or consumer-grade routers only have 100 Mbps WAN ports, which physically cap your connection at around 100 Mbps regardless of how fast your nbn service is. Without a gigabit-capable WAN port, you simply can't pass speeds greater than 100 Mbps through to your network.
Beyond the WAN port, a modern router also delivers better Wi-Fi coverage, supports more simultaneous devices, and includes up-to-date security features such as WPA3 encryption, all of which help your business get the full benefit of Enterprise nbn®.
Enterprise nbn® is available across 322 designated Business Fibre Zones throughout Australia, covering all major capital cities and close to 1,000,000 business locations. The service primarily runs on the nbn Fixed Line network, with limited fixed wireless and satellite options also available in some areas.
Coverage spans major metropolitan and regional centres across every state and territory, including NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, and NT. nbn® Enterprise Ethernet is extensively available throughout the metropolitan areas and major business hubs of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Hobart. Across these cities, hundreds of thousands of commercial locations are situated within designated Business Fibre Zones (BFZs).
As coverage continues to expand, the best way to confirm availability is to check your specific business address. Contact the UCOM team and we'll verify serviceability at your location.
